About MeAbout
I'm a Desinger and an artist
Hello There, I'm Syed Asad.
Greetings! I am Syed Asad, a Graphic Designer with a focus on Artworking for Pharmaceutical Packaging and Labelling. Here’s a brief overview of my professional journey.
MY CAREER PATH
My professional journey began in July 2007 when I joined Abrif software solution as a Junior Web and Graphic designer. My role involved assisting the web and graphic teams in various tasks such as designing website layouts, executing website HTML conversion (slicing), crafting logos, and designing print products like brochures, business cards, thank you cards, banners, customized letterheads, faxes, and stationery, among others.
In May 2011, I transitioned to freelancing from home. My freelance projects primarily revolved around designing brochures, websites, posters, adverts, and exhibition graphics. I delivered print-ready files to clients for printing and also developed and maintained graphics for company websites.
In 2014, I accepted an offer from Al Raja Printing Press in Saudi Arabia as a prepress designer. My duties encompassed preparing files for printing (Pre-press) and verifying that the artwork was in the correct format and appearance. I was responsible for determining page layout, color format, fonts, graphics quality, and ensuring that text and images were correctly set before the full print run. I also made sure that the artwork had appropriate bleeds and gripper, added crop marks and color bars as necessary, dispatched press-ready documents and final layouts to both the rip and press stations, and provided mock-ups to the pressman while synchronizing printing schedules.
I was tasked with creating artwork for prepress and production design for both large and small format printing, which included tasks such as color matching, size reformatting, and adding die cuts. I also performed quality checks on created artworks before dispatching them to the printing press for mass printing. I have a robust systematic understanding of color separation, bleeding, and other print-related technical troubleshooting areas.
In 2016, I returned to India and joined Freyr Solutions as a Senior Graphic Designer. In this position, I handle changes required in product packaging based on customer briefs and adapt customer artwork to new packaging by converting the source language into different languages (such as Hebrew, Arabic, Urdu, etc.) The artwork I create is always 100% accurate.
At Freyr Solutions, my responsibilities also encompass completing artwork for packaging components and ensuring they are ready to meet submission and production schedules. I proofread text for labeling of pharmaceutical products as mandated by regulatory guidelines and ensure that labeling artwork and proofs comply with all medical, legal, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, I guarantee the accuracy of commercial packaging components and maintain regulatory compliance, accuracy, timely completion, and version control of all new and revised text on labeling components. I consistently coordinate, monitor, and expedite labeling changes to meet established deadlines for submission and production, including support for product launches. I ensure that all typesetting of packaging components, including text, graphics, chemical structures, barcodes, etc., adhere to medical guidelines and standards. I have a strong systematic understanding of color separation, bleeding, and other print-related technical troubleshooting areas.
In January 2024, I joined FishIn India Private Limited, where I am directly accountable to the Artwork Manager within the Corporate Responsibility Department. My role involves assisting the Artwork Manager with a wide array of tasks related to the creation and upkeep of artwork files and associated packaging information. I support the Artwork Manager in auditing and preserving artwork and related documents in SharePoint sites and file repositories. I keep track of Artwork File Details using Microsoft OneNote. I utilize different customer platforms to assist in the creation of artwork files. I liaise with external design teams to provide necessary revision suggestions. I create and modify artwork files as required, or collaborate with a Graphic Designer if an external resource is needed. I comply with all regulatory requirements as specified in the Artwork Training Document. I ensure that customer expectations and deadlines are met or surpassed, and maintain open communication with them if there are project delays.
